Program Description

For information on virtual instructor-led training, please email us.

This course teaches participants the basics of the IATF 16949 Quality Management System, and provides them with the tools and techniques to perform competent assessments of the effectiveness of their quality management system. Learners will gain the required internal auditing skills through formal classroom teaching, group activities and class discussions. The four phases of an internal audit are discussed: planning, preparation, performing the audit and reporting and verification.

The foundation of IATF 16949 is that quality management systems should be built around the fundamental processes of the organization. During this course, emphasis is placed on keeping a big picture perspective on the internal audit, to ensure that the outputs of each business or manufacturing process are understood. The internal audit is used to fully test the effectiveness of each process to manage process risks, and deliver the best output possible.

The training also provides an overview of core tools, such as advanced product quality planning (APQP), failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA), measurement system analysis (MSA), production part approval process (PPAP) and statistical process control (SPC). Learners will gain an understanding of the core tools required to effectively implement and audit IATF 16949:2016.

Knowledge of IATF 16949:2016 is not a prerequisite to attend this training session, but familiarity is an asset.

Participants should bring their copy of the IATF 16949:2016 standard to this training program.
